Description

Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore provide a Christ-centered education that is academically excellent and empowers students to reach their full potential spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, and morally. Fostered through robust collaboration among stakeholders, this mission is accomplished through accountable leadership at all levels, ongoing and coordinated strategic planning, centralized efficiencies, and financial sustainability.

The Rising Leaders Coordinator position is a temporary, grant-funded role. In collaboration with the Director of Instruction and Professional Development and the Department of Catholic Schools staff, the coordinator will provide leadership in the redesign, implementation, and facilitation of leadership development programming for aspiring leaders (Rising Leaders I) and current assistant principals (Rising Leaders II) across the Archdiocese of Baltimore. This position reports to the Director of Instruction and Professional Development and the Superintendent of Catholic Schools.

The Rising Leaders Coordinator will develop and support the implementation of Rising Leaders I and Rising Leaders II, leadership development programs designed to strengthen the pipeline of future assistant principals and principals within the Archdiocese. Responsibilities include curriculum design; identifying presenters for each program module; facilitating learning experiences, as appropriate; participant mentoring and support; program evaluation; and the continuous improvement of leadership development opportunities within the programs.

The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership experience in Catholic education, knowledge of adult learning principles, and a commitment to developing future school leaders. During Year 1, the program design can primarily be completed remotely but will require collaboration with members of the Department of Catholic Schools team to ensure alignment with the mission and vision of leadership development within the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

During Years 2 and 3, the role will require attendance at both virtual and in-person Rising Leaders meetings, program sessions, and planning activities.

This is a hybrid position requiring a commitment of approximately eight hours per week, with most work completed remotely. Occasional attendance at in-person professional development sessions, meetings, and events will be required.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Instruction and Professional Development to develop and implement leadership development programming aligned with the strategic goals of the Department of Catholic Schools.
  • Design and develop curriculum, learning activities, participant resources, facilitator materials, surveys, and assessments for the Rising Leaders I and Rising Leaders II programs, while identifying professional development presenters.
  • Organize and maintain program documentation, processes, and resources to ensure accessibility, continuity, and sustainability beyond the three-year grant period.
  • Facilitate leadership development sessions and learning experiences for program participants during Years 2 and 3.
  • Support participants through coaching, feedback, reflection activities, and ongoing communication throughout the program.
  • Assist in identifying and recruiting prospective participants for leadership development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with principals, assistant principals, and diocesan leaders to ensure programming reflects current leadership needs and priorities.
  • Evaluate participant feedback and program outcomes and recommend revisions to…
