Islamic Leadership Institute of America (ILIA) is seeking a part-time Youth Life Skills Facilitator / Coach to deliver structured life-skills and leadership programming to justice-involved youth in Central Maryland.
Using ILIA’s I Can Lead curriculum, the facilitator will help youth strengthen communication, decision-making, conflict resolution, goal-setting, financial literacy, and other practical life skills.
Location:
Central Maryland — Baltimore / Baltimore County / Howard County / Anne Arundal / Prince George’s County / Charles County area. Programming will take place primarily at assigned Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) facilities and partner sites.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Youth Development, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Ability to complete required background screening
- 3+ years experience teaching, mentoring, coaching, counseling, or facilitating youth
- Strong communication and group facilitation skills
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
- Experience with justice-involved or underserved youth is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance
Responsibilities
- Facilitate life-skills and leadership sessions using ILIA curriculum
- Build supportive relationships with youth participants
- Lead interactive discussions and activities
- Track attendance, participation, and session notes
- Communicate participant needs and concerns to ILIA staff
- Coordinate with ILIA staff and site partners
Schedule
- Part-time / contract-based
- Schedules based on program, facility, and facilitator availability
- May include daytime, evening, or weekend programming
