Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Principal Quality Analyst to support our Baltimore, MD site.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.

  • Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.

  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

  • Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

  • Processes complex non-conformances and Material Review dispositions from initiation through completion, collaborating and coordinating dispositions with internal and external customers.

  • May specialize in areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

  • Facilitates process assessments to ensure optimal quality and efficiency.

  • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems consistent with organizational objectives.

  • Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects.

  • Ability to mentor/lead while working in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications for level 3 (Principal):

  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering and/or Quality with a bachelor's degree in STEM; or 3+ years of experience in Engineering and/or Quality with a Master's degree in STEM.

  • U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.

  • Experience working within Quality Management Systems.

  • Experience in ERP or MES systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with J-STD Soldering, Crimping, IPC Specs, Solar Cell Visual inspection, Manufacturing Planning review.

  • Experience initiating and processing discrepancies and Corrective Action.

  • Experience in data mining.

  • Experience performing Root Cause analysis including documentation and presentation.

  • Experience in facilitation of process assessments to ensure optimal quality and efficiency.

  • Experience and understanding of Continuous Improvement.

  • Experience with advanced engineering and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience with training and successful application of lean principles.

  • Experience with mechanical and non-destructive inspection techniques and tools.

  • CDR, MRR, TRR, PRR process experience.

  • Experience with digital Manufacturing Systems (MES) machining, etc.

  • Experience with Key Characteristics Control Planning, Gage R&R and MSA analysis, First Pass…
