Summary

Our client is seeking a skilled Sr. Engineer I specializing in civil design and land development for a full-time position based in the DC Metro area. This role involves supporting design project delivery by preparing comprehensive site and construction documentation in a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• 5–10 years of experience in civil/site land planning and engineering
• Proficiency with Micro Station and/or AutoCAD drafting tools
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized
• Able to collaborate effectively within a team
• Prior experience in Maryland or Southern Maryland is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Prepare land development construction drawings such as site layout, utility, and roadway plans
• Assist with zoning, preliminary, and conceptual plans
• Perform grading design, earthwork analysis, and apply best practices for safety and efficiency
• Conduct soil erosion and sediment control design, including stability calculations, BMPs, swale and spillway design, and construction sequencing
• Interpret applicable codes and standards by collaborating with project managers and engineers
• Process design plan submissions to local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
• Receive day-to-day direction from the Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager
