Overview
Summary Of Position We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Demolition & Remediation Director to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving growth in the Mid-Atlantic region and ensuring accurate project estimates. You will work alongside an in-house team of estimators to build quantity takeoffs, attend site walks, and drive estimating reviews to achieve the right numbers. This is a Director level position and will report to the VP-Mid Atlantic.
This is an exciting role for someone with experience in demolition, abatement and remediation looking to expand their career with a robust team and strong regional backlog already in place.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, architects, and general contractors to identify project opportunities.
- Attend site visits to gain critical information on bidding demolition, abatement and remediation projects.
- Collaborate with in-house estimators to review quantity takeoffs and advise on crew size, production rates, and task sequencing.
- Actively network and represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
- Communicate with prime contractor to ensure an accurate understanding of project scope, bid items, dates, site walk information, pre-bid submittal requirements, and projected start dates.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, site photos, and other documents to prepare time, material, equipment, labor, and disposal cost estimates for high-quality proposals.
- Collaborate with Compliance to ensure proper regulations are followed and verify potential vendors/subcontractors.
- Work closely with Project Management on handoffs for won jobs to ensure estimating methodology and project knowledge are transferred to the operations team.
- 10+ years of experience in the demolition, abatement or remediation industry.
- Proven ability to assess crew size, equipment packages, and project duration for multiple tasks (demonstrated in an interview).
- Working knowledge of Excel and word processing programs.
- Understanding of construction documents and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must be able to occasionally attend industry-related events in the local area.
- Sedentary work: sit for extended periods (up to 6 hours per day) with occasional standing and walking.
- Lifting: occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Vision: ability to read standard text and see objects at distance up to 20 feet.
- Hearing: ability to hear and understand conversations in a typical office environment.
- Mobility: ability to navigate office spaces and access file cabinets and office machinery.
