Geotechnical Engineer - Entry Level in Baltimore

We are looking to expand our Geotechnical Design Group with a Geotechnical Design Engineer based in our Baltimore, MD location. The role involves developing design concepts and implementing them through reports, drawings, specifications, and construction phase services. The position will include a portion of time in the office, part remote and part on site, with preparation for various field assignments throughout the career.

The engineer will provide geotechnical designs and perform analysis for transportation, water/wastewater, marine, and site development projects, primarily municipal or governmental in nature under design bid‑build and design‑build formats.

Engineers shall be capable of recommending and analyzing various foundation options for buildings, bridges, retaining walls, and other non‑standard structures. They must adapt designs to the needs of both municipal owners and design‑build contractor clients. Engineers are required to prepare cohesive reports, develop project‑specific specifications, and produce geotechnical details, as well as perform field engineering services including borings inspection, deep foundation inspection, and field consultations.

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline (master’s degree is a plus).
• Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT).
• Field experience related to site grading and foundation construction is highly desired.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $60,000.00 – $85,000.00. This range is a good‑faith estimate and may vary based on relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
