Location: On site in Newark, DE and the Greater Baltimore Area

An innovation focused packaging organization is adding a Junior Packaging Development Engineer to support new product initiatives in a growing specialty packaging environment. This is a strong opportunity for an early career engineer who wants hands on exposure to product development, testing, prototyping, and cross functional collaboration while working on solutions used in temperature sensitive and performance driven applications. Focus
  • Support development of packaging concepts for temperature sensitive, industrial, and consumer applications.
  • Build prototypes and help run lab and transit tests to compare design performance.
  • Record findings, summarize results, and prepare clear documentation for internal teams.
  • Partner with engineering, quality, operations, and commercial teams during new product projects.
  • Help maintain lab tools, testing equipment, and an organized work area.
  • Contribute ideas for material selection, sustainability, manufacturability, and cost improvement.
  • Track project timelines and elevate equipment or testing issues quickly.
  • Stay current on packaging trends, test methods, and emerging materials.
Skill Set
  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred.
  • Approximately 1+ years of experience in packaging development, product testing, lab support, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Exposure to lab testing, validation, or distribution performance standards is helpful.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as Solid Works is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, and data analysis skills.
  • Highly effective at conveying information, managing priorities, and interpreting complex data sets.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving, on‑site environment.
  • Interest in cold chain, protective packaging, healthcare packaging, or related applications is preferred.
  • Comfortable with infrequent travel requirements, averaging roughly 5–10% as needed.
