* The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and integration of advanced Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), with a strong emphasis on wiring harness architecture, power distribution, and RF subsystem integration. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys both detailed electrical design work and hands-on integration in a fast-paced prototyping environment. The position plays a critical role in ensuring that UAS platforms are electrically robust, well-documented, and ready for mission execution.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop aircraft-level wiring harness architectures including signal routing, shielding, grounding, and connector selection
Generate detailed wiring diagrams, harness drawings, pinouts, and electrical schematics
Develop and maintain technical documentation and configuration-controlled drawing packages
Design and analyze UAS power systems including battery integration, regulation, distribution, and protection
Integrate RF systems including command-and-control links, telemetry, video transmission systems, and antenna interfaces
Perform system-level electrical integration within airframes and payload configurations
Support fabrication teams by providing clear build documentation and resolving technical discrepancies
Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis during lab integration and flight test events
Support ground and flight test events as required
Design of multilayer and controlled impedance PCBsExperience with radio communication systems, antenna specification, and electromagnetic interference mitigation, programming for small embedded processors
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for the program
Experience designing wiring harnesses and generating associated documentation
Experience with power electronics and low-voltage distribution systems
Experience integrating RF or communication systems
Strong schematic development skills
Ability to work in a hands-on prototyping and integration environment
Knowledge or experience with analog or digital RF circuits.
Able to design, fabricate, and perform PCB assembly of surface mount and through-hole components, modify, and assemble mechanical enclosures
Experience integrating RF or communication systems
Desired:
Experience supporting UAS, aerospace, or airborne platforms
Familiarity with EMI/EMC best practices for airborne systems
Experience with configuration management and revision control processes
Experience working closely with technicians or fabrication teams
Experience supporting flight testing or operational events
