Overview
We are recruiting an Electrical Distribution Designer with a GIS background to assist in GIS creation and engineering design preparation of construction drawings for various electrical projects. Candidate must have electrical distribution design and BGE system knowledge.
Responsibilities- Electrical knowledge includes but is not limited to power distribution (normal and emergency systems, lighting systems and controls, power studies, renewable energy design, and special systems).
- Complete fieldwork to field‑truth construction drawings. Make sketches, take photos, measure conductor distances with a laser rangefinder.
- Convert GIS data to and from many different coordinate systems. Copy, edit and reconcile conflicts through enterprise version control software.
- Combine powerful GIS capabilities with engineering standards to create high‑quality construction documents.
- Creating, editing, and updating point, line, and polygon features with complex relational databases. Import high‑resolution CAD drawings into GIS feature classes with extreme accuracy.
- Ensure the highest quality product for our client.
- A minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in Electrical Distribution Engineering and BGE systems.
- Micro Station Experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Detail‑oriented individual.
- Strong communication skills, written and interpersonal communications skills.
- Collaborative with and inclusive of individuals of diverse backgrounds and geographic locations.
- Must be comfortable in both a field and office setting.

- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related discipline; six years of experience in lieu of a degree.
$24.00–$41.00/hour (equal to $49,920–$62,400 annually). Position eligible for overtime. Position eligible for discretionary bonuses at the sole discretion of the company.
