The candidate for this position will lead a team of Design Engineers creating production documentation for air traffic control systems. The candidate will serve as manager and technical point of contact for the team to help the team grow and create optimal solutions. This position requires being 100% in-office in our new Frederick, MD production facility.
Responsibilities- Manage a team of design engineers producing production documentation
- Work with engineers to produce high quality mechanical designs
- Ensure on-time release of documentation and BOMs for products and projects
- Review designs for accuracy and adherence to internal and industry standards
- Serve as design engineering point of contact to project management, systems engineering, production, test engineering, and others as needed
- Assist in identifying gaps in processes and training needs; help implement solutions
Manage design team’s project schedules and prioritize tasks when conflicts arise
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
- 7+ years of experience in an engineering role with some leadership or management experience
- Experience working within published standards requirements (FAA, MIL, IPC, etc.)
- Knowledge of industry drafting standards (ASME)
- Experience working within a PDM/PLM system
- 3D modeling experience (Siemens NX, Solid Works, Creo, etc.)
- Working knowledge of MS Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
- Ability to understand other engineering disciplines’ needs and translate to mechanical requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
- In order to be considered, candidates must be a US citizen capable of receiving a US Government security clearance
The total compensation for this position is $110K-$160K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
