Overview

Our team is seeking a Senior Facilities Management Specialist to support the Department of Defense (DoD) HPC Moderation Program and Army Corps of Engineers, ERDC DoD Supercomputing Resource Center (DSRC) at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.
Schedule: On-call rotation support
Responsibilities & DutiesThe Senior Facilities Management Specialist provides technical leadership, operational oversight, and strategic planning for mission-critical mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure systems supporting High Performance Computing (HPC) and data center environments. This role ensures 24/7 operational readiness of critical infrastructure including chilled water plants, HVAC systems, power distribution systems, backup generation, and building automation systems while leading facilities personnel, managing contractor performance, and supporting large-scale infrastructure modernization projects.
This position serves as a primary interface between customers, engineering teams, subcontractors, and leadership to ensure facility reliability, compliance, and mission success.
- Provide 24/7 engineering support for HPC data center infrastructure
- Oversee maintenance and repair of:
- Chiller Plants (Centrifugal and Air-Cooled)
- CRAC / CRAH Systems
- Air Handling Units and Condensing Units
- UPS and Power Distribution Equipment
- Generators and Transfer Switches
- Switchgear and Power Monitoring Systems
- Support BAS platforms including Metasys, Tracer, and Site Scan
- Review mechanical and electrical submittals for construction and modernization projects
- Provide engineering recommendations for reliability and redundancy improvements
- Support large-scale data center build-outs
- Troubleshoot complex refrigeration, electrical, and control system failures
- Acquire, review, and submit facilities contracts for funding approval
- Manage vendor performance and service delivery
- Procure equipment, parts, and facility support materials
- Track inventory, lifecycle maintenance schedules, and asset management
- Serve as primary facilities liaison to government and program leadership
- Provide technical risk assessments and cost-effective solution recommendations
- Support mission uptime requirements for DoD RDT&E HPC operations
- 3+ years facilities, data center, or mission critical infrastructure experience
- Supporting HPC or high-availability environments
- Supporting construction or infrastructure upgrades
- Advanced HVAC and Chilled Water Systems
- Power Distribution and Emergency Power Systems
- BAS / Controls Systems
- Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting
- Blueprint and Submittal Review
- Candidate must possess an active Secret Clearance. Top Secret Preferred
- High School Diploma with 8 years’ experience; OR associates degree with 6 years’ experience in a related field; OR a Bachelors degree in a related field with 4 years' experience; OR a Masters degree in a related field with 2 years' experience; OR a PhD degree in a related field with no experience.
- EPA Universal Certification
- Electrical or Mechanical trade certifications
