Senior Program Manager - Onsite | Maryland - Spacecraft

An innovative space mobility company is looking for a Senior Program Manager to lead the delivery of advanced spacecraft programs supporting national security, civil, and commercial missions. This role will own full program execution across technical delivery, cost, schedule, integration, and customer engagement from development through launch and on-orbit operations.

The successful candidate will bring a strong technical foundation in spacecraft systems, integration & test, or mission engineering, combined with proven experience leading complex hardware-intensive space programs through major development milestones and flight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end execution of spacecraft and subsystem development programs, with accountability for technical performance, cost, and schedule
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, integration, and test teams
  • Develop and maintain integrated program plans, schedules, milestones, and customer delivery commitments
  • Manage program risks, dependencies, and resource constraints, ensuring proactive mitigation and execution recovery where required
  • Lead customer interactions, technical reviews, and milestone activities including SRR, PDR, CDR, and launch readiness reviews
  • Support spacecraft integration, launch preparation, commissioning, and mission execution activities
  • Contribute to proposal development, capture efforts, and future mission planning as the organisation scales
  • Help establish scalable program execution processes within a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment
Key Requirements
  • Degree-qualified in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline
  • Significant experience leading satellite or spacecraft programs through development, launch, and/or on-orbit operations
  • Strong technical background in systems engineering, spacecraft integration & test, payloads, or related mission-critical disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-functional hardware programs under demanding cost and schedule constraints
  • Experience leading formal milestone reviews and customer-facing program activities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and executive audiences
  • Comfortable operating within a high-accountability, fast-moving development environment
  • Active security clearance or eligibility to obtain one

This is an opportunity to play a leading role in the delivery of next-generation spacecraft programs at a company operating at the forefront of space mobility and mission innovation. The role offers significant ownership, visibility, and long-term growth potential within a fast-scaling and mission-driven organisation.
