Purpose:

Complete projects with suppliers to provide uninterrupted flow of components for assembly operations that comply with instrument requisites, quality, price, and delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Produce component cost comparisons and analyze alternative manufacturing methods for Cost Improvement Projects (CIP’S).
  • Determine the requirements of tools and spare parts to maintain the supply of components.
  • Complete technical projects with suppliers to improve supplier process, maintenance capability of the supplier's process, capability of instrument assembly and instrument output performance.
  • Provide technical support for the approbation/validation of changes and supplier process improvements.
  • Provide technical support for the resolution of component quality issues.
  • Potentially coordinate RMI/CAD/BOM activities.
  • Sustain supply chain continuity by qualifying and validating supplier tooling as per component approval procedures.
  • Ensure closure to component non-conformance issues with timely corrective action submission and approval of supplier control plans.
  • Manage the ETQ database for assigned NC's and CAPA's, complete actions by due dates and provide periodic updates to management.
  • Follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within the work area.
  • Support supplier evaluations for major services/products, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Management System (EMS) responsibilities.
  • Follow J&J and CSS Record Management policies for convenience information, records retention schedules, training and education, document hold notices, records cleanout, inactive records and information management, vital records and third‑party vendor information, if applicable.
  • Communicate business‑related issues or opportunities to next‑level management.
  • For supervisors or staff managers, ensure subordinates follow all company guidelines related to health, safety and environmental practices and that all resources needed are available and in good condition.
  • Ensure personal and company compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties assigned as needed.
  • May serve as lead operations engineer on the development or revision of a product of significant complexity or contribute significant, unique expertise across multiple product lines.
  • Be viewed by the organization as a role model demonstrating the technical field, exercising considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments; work is generally expected to result in the development of new or refined equipment, materials, processes, products and/or technical methods.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Generally requires 6‑8 years of related experience or equivalent knowledge and skills necessary to satisfactorily perform the position responsibilities.
  • Bilingual in English / Spanish.
  • Strong group integration, multifunctional tasking and coordination of collaboration between multiple functional groups.
  • Effective communication skills—oral, written and for presentations.
  • Project management experience, leading teams located in different areas while executing a project.
  • Technical competencies: tool design, product/process risk evaluation, interplant transfers, test method design and validation, Lean and Six Sigma skills, process validation, design validation and verification, technical process writing, regulatory knowledge, plastic molding injection, process characterizations, GD&T & measurement system tools and techniques, polymer knowledge, chemical processing, metal forming component processes, electromechanical component processes, packaging processes, PFMEA, DFMA, control plans, FAI, G100002, metrology and calibrators development, problem‑solving skills and techniques, Credo acting values and behavior, company process and product knowledge, statistical analysis software such as Minitab, engineering software (FEA, CAD, etc.),

    and other skills as required; not all skills listed may be utilized.
  • Knowledge of components manufacturing costs.
