Job DescriptionCarroll Engineering is seeking a licensed Structural Engineer (PE) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial building design to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in structural analysis and design, with demonstrated proficiency in RISA software and Autodesk Revit. This role involves working on a variety of commercial projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities- Perform structural analysis and design for commercial buildings, including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures
- Develop structural models and perform calculations using RISA software (e.g., RISA-3D, RISAFoundation)
- Produce and coordinate construction documents using Autodesk Revit
- Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure project success
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals during construction phases
- Conduct site visits and field inspections as needed
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, standards, and regulations
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (MD preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design, with a focus on commercial buildings.
- Strong experience working with Steel, Concrete, Masonry, and/or Wood Construction.
- Proficiency in RISA software suite or similar
- Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit
- Solid understanding of U.S. building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
