The Reliability Technician, reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Reliability Engineer, will lead maintenace reliability activities in the Baltimore plant. This is a day shift position.
Essential Duties
Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participate in safety program
Functions as the plant champion and subject matter expert in the areas of lubrication, oil analysis, vibration analysis, infrared thermography and ultrasound.
Works with Engineering and Lubrication experts to determine the most effective lubricants and methods of application that are most effective for all machinery.
Participates in creating job plans for lubrication, vibration analysis, infrared thermography and ultrasound.
Sets optimum lube inventory levels and tracks usage.
Maintains proper lube storage, including 5S standard of storage location
Creates and prioritizes corrective work orders based upon inspection while performing tasks
Participates in breakdown analysis to understand the root cause of failure.
Provides Training to Other Technicians and Operators
Ability to lift parts and test equipment, 50 pounds or less
Qualifications Required:
H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required
Basic computer literacy
Capability to read technical documents, such as:
Technical manuals
Manufacturer's instructionsBasic computer literacy, including the capability to operate standard email, spreadsheet, word processing and moderately complex software, and employ web-based programs, including those used for lubrication scheduling and oil analysis functions and/or other computer systems to check for work orders (Maximo), schedule or print routes, acknowledge work orders, etc.
Understanding of PM Optimization process for critical assetsCapability to read technical documents, such as:
OEM Maintenance manuals
Blue prints
Lubrication Technology instruction and recommendationsA fundamental understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and circulating systems operation, and maintenance functions.
Good team building skills and the ability to work through others.
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Understanding of computer maintenance management systems
Ability to develop effective work procedures and job plans
Knowledge and/or experience in Vibration Analysis, Lubrication/Oil Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Equipment Strategies, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Precision Maintenance, and/or Infrared Thermography
Understanding of machine lubrication, oil analysis, cleanliness standards, and lubrication properties
Capability to calculate lubricant inventory and calculating relubrication quantity considerations.
Qualifications Preferred:
Associate’s Degree (AA) Associate/Technical degree or higher in an industrial, manufacturing, electrical, mechanical, or another manufacturing field
Experience in an industrial workplace
More than one (1) year industrial maintenance experience.
Certified as a Lubrication Specialist (CLS), Oil Monitoring Analyst (OMA), OR Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT)
Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.
Base Hourly Rate: $42.73
