Mechanical Engineer
This position is ideal for a Mechanical Engineer with a degree and 3 to 15 years of experience who is ready to lead mechanical system design for commercial and institutional HVAC projects. In this role, you will be responsible for calculations, system design, layout, and specifications using Revit, BIM, and Bluebeam. Project types include K12 schools, universities, multifamily housing, and public facilities such as police and fire stations.
You will rely on your knowledge of mechanical and energy codes to produce efficient, compliant designs while working closely with cross functional project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute mechanical system calculations, layouts, and specifications for HVAC systems across commercial and institutional projects including K12, higher education, multifamily, and public sector facilities
- Produce detailed HVAC and plumbing designs using Revit, BIM, and Bluebeam while coordinating with architectural and engineering teams
- Ensure all designs meet International Mechanical Code and Energy Conservation Code requirements for compliance and efficiency
- Incorporate applicable standards and codes such as SMACNA, NEC, IBC, IMC, IECC, and ASHRAE into all phases of design
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to communicate design intent and resolve coordination conflicts
- Oversee multiple projects at once, maintaining deadlines and requiring minimal supervision
- Maintain organized and precise documentation with strong attention to detail across all deliverables
- Identify and resolve design issues, offering practical solutions while maintaining a proactive and positive mindset
- Contribute to design reviews and integrate feedback to enhance project outcomes
- Assist with project documentation updates from early design through construction documentation phases
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3 to 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on HVAC design
- Practical experience with HVAC system design for building applications
- Proficiency in Revit for mechanical and plumbing system modeling and layout
- Familiarity with BIM tools and coordinated design processes
- Experience using Bluebeam for document review and markup
- Strong understanding of HVAC design principles for commercial and institutional buildings
- Working knowledge of International Mechanical Code and Energy Conservation Code
- Familiarity with SMACNA, NEC, IBC, IMC, IECC, and ASHRAE standards
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline driven environment with minimal oversight
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proven problem solving skills and ability to remain effective under pressure with a proactive approach
Additional Qualifications
- Experience working on projects within K12, higher education, multifamily residential, or public sector facilities such as police and fire stations
- Engineer in Training certification or progress toward licensure is preferred
- Background in architecture or engineering consulting environments is beneficial
- Interest in continued professional growth through mentorship programs
- Desire to obtain Professional Engineer licensure, with support for exam costs and bonus eligibility upon completion
Work Environment
This is an in office position based in a collaborative setting. The team utilizes Revit, BIM, and Bluebeam as primary tools for design and coordination.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr. Benefits:
