Work days/hours: M - F 8am - 4pm

Pay rate: up to $22/hr

Job Summary:

The Product Development Engineering, Tech 1 is required to work within a team to assist in New Product Development and troubleshooting in support of the Reagent and Instrument Plants for the BD COR product line. Additionally the Tech 1 candidate will have proven Technical Writing skills that will apply to drafting/updating Laboratory and/or Manufacturing Instructions. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years in a professional biotech environment, although education and academic experience may be substituted.

B.S. in a related Life Science is preferred but not required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Experience working in a GLP laboratory environment; preparing buffers and solutions using routine laboratory techniques and skills.
• Working knowledge of general laboratory equipment such as Pipets, Balances, Mixers, Sonicators, pH meters, etc.
• Ability to read and execute Standard Manufacturing Procedures with supervision.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work effectively with large multifunctional teams.
• Technical Writing; familiarity with scientific/technical terms and nomenclature for writing/updating Microsoft Word documents and/or work instructions based on input from team members.
• Collect, record, and interpret experimental results and present data to scientific peers and supervisor/manager either orally or in writing.
