Acoustic Engineer

Johnson Controls is hiring! The Acoustic Engineer is an early-career engineer with developing expertise in sound and vibration, supporting industrial HVAC equipment such as chillers and heat pumps. In this role, you will apply your technical skills across a range of activities, from prototype development to customer field support.

You will work on-site as part of a team of sound and vibration experts and collaborate closely with product engineering, marketing, technical services, and sales. This position offers the opportunity to grow your expertise in acoustics and HVAC applications while contributing to new and existing technologies. This position is located onsite at our Advanced Development Engineering Center in New Freedom, PA.

Candidates must be commuting distance, or able to relocate. Various relocation packages are available.

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related science
• 2+ years of professional experience as an Acoustics Engineer
• Background in acoustics, vibration, or signal processing

Preferred:

• Advanced degree in acoustics or coursework emphasizing acoustics and vibration
• Experience in a testing laboratory and with acoustic measurement systems (e.g., sound level meters, intensity probes, microphones, accelerometers)
• Knowledge of Acoustic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA)
• Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar)

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $75,000 - $100,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
