Senior Mechanical Engineer

Consulting Engineering firm has an immediate opening for a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Baltimore Office. Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; advanced AutoCAD and Revit proficiency; knowledge of discipline specific analysis software tools; proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with Primavera or Microsoft Project; and minimum of 7-10+ years documented design experience or responsibility in areas of mechanical engineering in A/E industry market sectors including commercial, healthcare, institutional, educational, municipal, and industrial properties.

Position requires a Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent. Maryland Licensed Professional Engineer with Mechanical Engineering specialty. LEED Accredited Professional with any of the specialty certifications.

Strong understanding of construction process and constructability issues. Experience in managing and leading a design team. Design leadership and expertise in applicable codes and standards. Preparation and supervision of the preparation of contract documents. Must be able to deliver accurate and thorough code compliant designs meeting industry standards within budget and schedule constraints; review and carry out complex mechanical technical studies and prepare high caliber reports.

Ability to resolve site construction issues, attend site meetings, and perform site inspections during the construction phase of projects. Review internal and external designs for code compliance, good design practice and constructability. Perform quality assurance and quality control tasks on projects. Ability to recruit and mentor junior staff.
