About the RoleWe are seeking a Quality Engineering Engineer with deep experience in aerospace structures / Nacelles to lead quality activities across metallic and composite airframe components. This role manages all quality functions of assigned programs or areas with minimal guidance to ensure structural integrity, regulatory compliance, and flawless execution.
Selected candidate needs to clear National, State & County Criminal background check (Last 7 years residence, employment, education verification, and criminal conviction records investigation) along with 10 Panel Drug Screening.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, or related engineering field.
8+ years of aerospace structures / Nacelle quality or manufacturing experience.
4+ dedicated Aerospace experience
Strong understanding of ISO
9000 or AS9100, FAA Part 21 and structural conformity requirements.
Positive attitude and leadership characteristics.
Can work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
Able to work both individually and as part of a team.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools.
Ability to work with individuals with diverse backgrounds, experience, and education levels.
Proficiency with 3D CAD Software (Catia/3dx preferred)
Strong understanding of Aircraft structures, design guidelines, composite and metallic failure modes.
Excellent communication skills to interface with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience of complex cross‑functional quality initiatives.
Preferred QualificationsASQ CQE/CQA or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
Familiarity with MRB processes and digital QMS/PLM tools.
Job DescriptionHas a general understanding of AS9100 and/or NADCAP requirements or customer standards.
Eliminates process variation and product defects through creative solutions. Works on Root Cause, Corrective Action with some guidance using established RCCA tools (PFMEA, DMAIC, Apollo, 5 WHYs, 8D, etc.).
Develops Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) documents, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) deliverables, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
Create, review, and execute quality control plans, flow charts for incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and final products. Processes all Nonconformance Items and Workflows in a timely manner.
Solicits weekly prioritization of tasks and deliverables that align with business objectives.
Mostly takes direction from cross-functional team members / leaders to execute support actions for the cross-functional team. Provides process improvement and variation reduction expertise (product/process capability) as required.
Has broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control. Interact with customers to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel.
Support the manufacturing groups to design, implement and document procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
Must have excellent computer skills (Power-Point, Excel and statistical software tools).
Partner with Design Engineering on structural qualification, test planning, DFM/A, and risk mitigation (FMEA, PFMEA).
Track quality performance metrics (scrap, rework, structural defects, MRB trends) and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Support supplier quality for metallics, composites, machining, fabrication, and bonded assemblies.
