Essential Functions
- System Design & Analysis: Develop innovative mechanical engineering solutions grounded in industry best practices, constructability standards, and governing building codes.
- Technical Modeling & Drafting: Utilize CADD, BIM/Revit, Trane/Trace, Carrier/HAP, energy modeling tools, and Microsoft Office to execute complete design packages.
- Field & Energy Services: Conduct site surveys, energy audits, life-cycle cost analyses (LCCA), constructability reviews, and preliminary cost estimation.
- Construction Administration: Manage construction-phase review services, including submittal evaluations, RFI responses, site visits, and design change directives.
- Client & Project Management: Actively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, co-workers, and external clients to deliver high-quality technical solutions on schedule and within budget.
- Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within team environments.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven multi-tasking abilities with effective time-management habits under tight project deadlines.
- Unwavering commitment to technical precision, quality control, customer service, and professional ethics.
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Architectural Engineering (BSAE), or equivalent.
- 5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering design experience.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain client/government security clearances.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, or a demonstrated path to licensure within 12 months.
- LEED AP accreditation or equivalent sustainability credentials.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor junior engineering staff.
- Workplace: Primarily office-based with routine field visits for site observations and project meetings.
- Schedule: Core operational hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-3:00 PM, with flexible daily start times between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM (includes a standard unpaid lunch hour at 11:45 AM). Occasional evening or weekend overtime may be required to meet client milestones.
- Travel: Regular regional day travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, with occasional overnight trips or air travel as needed.
