Civil Project Engineer About the Role
Our client, a growing civil engineering consulting firm in the Baltimore area, is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in land development or site design who is looking to work on a diverse mix of public-sector projects.
Projects include site development, stormwater management, water resources, infrastructure improvements, school renovations and expansions, parks, and recreational facilities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute throughout the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual design and permitting to construction support and project closeout.
Responsibilities- Develop site civil engineering designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software.
- Prepare grading, drainage, utility, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management plans.
- Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses to support project development.
- Assist with the preparation of construction documents, specifications, and detailed plan packages.
- Conduct technical research and prepare reports, recommendations, and supporting documentation.
- Develop construction cost estimates and engineering opinions of probable cost.
- Participate in field visits, site inspections, and data collection efforts.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Support permitting and development approval processes across various local jurisdictions.
- Assist with construction administration and respond to field-related design questions as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in civil engineering, site development, or land development design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with grading, drainage, utility, and stormwater management design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Experience supporting public-sector projects.
- Familiarity with municipal permitting and entitlement processes.
- Exposure to water resources, infrastructure, transportation, or utility design projects.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $55.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
