An intern supports the assigned design department by assisting with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments and active participation in project design and documentation, to gain practical experience and support their educational development.

Compensation for this position is $22-27/hourly, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.

• Assist senior or lead (architects, engineers, interior designers, project managers) with basic design tasks, including research, simple studies, and layout support
• Help prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, modeling, graphics, design development, and construction phases
• Support the creation of presentation and marketing materials
• Assist with construction phase activities, including participating in site visits, supporting RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and helping update record drawings
• Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed
• Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices
• Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members
• Receive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leaders
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other multidisciplinary team members

• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Familiarity in using standard Microsoft Office for document creation and email communication
• Ability to prepare well organized, clear, and concise written materials
• Ability to support work with attention to detail and creativity
• Developing presentation skills, including communicating ideas to different groups
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively with guidance from supervisors
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate well with others

Full-time student currently pursuing an ABET accredited undergraduate degree in civil engineering with an interest in water and wastewater projects

• Coursework in a related field
• Previous internship or relevant work experience
• Familiarity with design and production software, with the ability to use these tools to develop project documents and collaborate with project team…
