Salary Range: $16.00 Hourly
Job SummaryThe Lobby Attendant is primarily responsible for maintaining a post to greet and direct visitors and guests of the Baltimore Convention Center to events and area attractions while ensuring the facility is properly secured and that no unauthorized individuals are in restricted areas. Work is performed indoors and requires moderate exertion with prolonged periods of standing.
Essential Functions- Greets and directs visitors and guests to events and area attractions.
- Alerts full-time Public Safety Officers, Supervisors, and/or appropriate authorities when needed.
- Education:
Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. - Experience:
have one year of Security or Law Enforcement experience preferred. - Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.
- Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to work effectively in a service-oriented environment subject to frequently changing priorities.
- Ability to walk long distances and remain in standing position for extended periods and climb multilevel stairwells.
Background Check:
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening and must be successfully completed.
Probation:
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a 6-MONTH mandatory probation.
