Chief Financial Officer

Chesapeake Search Partners has been retained by a growing, project-driven construction services organization in the Baltimore area to identify a Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team.

This is a highly hands-on CFO role for a leader who enjoys being close to the business while also driving financial strategy and long-term growth. The CFO will partner closely with ownership and senior leadership, oversee all accounting and finance functions, and work alongside operations to support project-level performance, cash flow, and margin management.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering with ownership and senior leaders on strategic decisions
• Lead all accounting and finance functions, including monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Work closely with operations and estimating to support project selection, WIP reporting, and cost control
• Drive cash flow management, margin improvement, and KPI development
• Lead, mentor, and stay hands-on with a lean accounting team
• Partner with external firms on tax, audit, and financial reporting

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in a project-based or construction-related environment
• Strong operational mindset with the ability to balance strategy and execution
• Hands-on leadership style and comfort working in a lean organization
• ERP and advanced Excel experience required
