Position: Compensation Specialist (on-site)

Comp Intelligence is currently seeking a professional, energetic and detail oriented individual to fill the Equity Administrator – Team Lead position for a client in their Baltimore office location with primary responsibility for the administration and record keeping of the firm’s equity and option programs, and accurately reporting investor information, under a partnership structure. This position is designed to allow for rewarding career growth and opportunities for advancement within the compensation function of a global independent investment management and strategic advisory firm.

You will regularly interact with team members within and outside the accounting team, providing high levels of customer service. Duties and Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage and direct colleagues responsible for equity functions.
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the company’s equity and option plans globally. Includes booking, processing, reviewing subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, and all unit holder-related transactions in accordance with company procedures.
  • Coordinate with all departments in the process, including Accounting & Finance, Human Resources, and Legal.
  • Accurately collect and enter data into our equity administration software in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate the approval of new equity and option grants, ensuring proper approvals and controls are in place.
  • Reconcile master equity records to firm’s investment portfolio accounting system.
  • Assist with year-end financial statement audits and other regulatory examination requests.
  • Liaise with in-house tax and payroll teams in order to communicate compensation impact to colleagues both in and outside of the United States.
  • Develop and provide firm-wide education and training sessions on equity compensation.
  • Maintain inbox for any questions related to the firm’s equity plans.
  • Responsible for execution and distribution of all equity-related documents.
  • Respond to requests for information from shareholders and potential investors.
  • Create formal equity-related procedures, policies, and controls.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Other ad hoc items, as necessary.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Technical

Job Requirements
  • Three to five years of accounting or financial industry related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in General Business, Accounting, Finance or related course of study.
  • Strong level of attention to detail and proven ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities and a sense of urgency is required.
  • High level of initiative and sound judgment.
  • Maintains colleague and shareholder confidence by keeping equity compensation information confidential.
  • Manage workflow through multiple systems and applications to meet evolving business demands.
