Finance Manager, Freight Finance

Amazon Freight Finance is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance Manager to join its Transportation Finance team. This role will have heavy impact and high visibility to the long-term strategy for the business, and will require strong partnership with the Sales, Pricing and Costing organization within Amazon Freight and across transportation teams.

Responsibilities include deep diving into business input drivers, complex data pools, and using insight to influence business decisions. The role is ideally suited for a candidate with demonstrated financial modeling, statistical analysis, strong verbal and written skills, and excellent attention to detail.

• Own shipper-level margin analysis and partner with Sales, Pricing and other teams to address issues in margin.
• Perform the cost dive deep in partnership with Cost Planning and Execution team and build template to show weekly, monthly and YTD performance including commentary for leadership reviews.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on cost allocation and its methodology to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to resolve defects proactively and improve, scale, or simplify finance tools across teams and organizations.
• Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams and partner finance teams to ensure seamless integration of the AF plan into the overall Worldwide Operations.
• With Controllership as the top priority, identify, resolve, or provide guidance to resolve complex data integrity issues; improve controls to address financial risk and support frugality.
• Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs. Make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where data may be scarce or difficult to procure.
• Use active listening skills to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjust style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly. Communications drive critical business decisions.
• Disagree and commit to foster constructive dialogues, harmonize conflicting views, resolve issues, and drive decisions.

Your day will be a blend of deep financial analysis, collaborative problem‑solving, and strategic partnership with Operations, Pricing, Product, Sales, and cross‑functional teams. You’ll dive into shipper-level data to analyze revenue and cost performance, work closely with site leadership teams to interpret key financial metrics, and review performance data to identify trends that help leadership understand the financial health of operations.

• 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
• BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience.

• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience.
• 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience.
• MBA, or CPA.
