Purpose of Role
The Senior Financial Analyst, Marketing FP&A will partner with the Director of FP&A, providing strategic, financial, and operational analytics & insights to the Americas Wholesale Marketing and Team Sports Division teams to maximize financial returns of the region. It will work on identifying and developing cost efficiencies across the Americas, ensuring expenditures are managed tightly and in line with approved plans.
It will manage submission of selling general & administrative expense and support functions financial plan, ensuring they are submitted in accordance with global direction while developing the level of detail and accuracy. As well as the consolidation of Team Sports division P&L. Responsible for maintaining marketing database and partnering with key teams to recommend and implement process improvement opportunities to drive savings.
Impact Financial Planning
- Serve as primary business partner to VP, Wholesale Marketing and VP, Team Sports and their teams
- Manage forecast submissions as well as the in-month latest estimate updates for Marketing and Fixture Expenses;
Ensuring plans are submitted in accordance with the process and continuously seeking to improve accuracy
- Interpret, analyze, and review financial results of support functions to provide recommendations and ensure accountability
- Analyze Marketing Investment Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and present results to leadership
- Partner with marketing, accounting and sales teams to perform fixtures expense investment analysis and prepare Capital Asset Request supporting documents
- Manage forecasting of Headcount spend and partner with HRBP as needed to gain understanding of changes to headcount
- Consolidate the Team Sports division P&L by partnering with Wholesale and FP&A revenue‑forecasting teams to ensure accurate and reliable financial data
- Contribute to continuous development of business reports and the reporting process to ensure they are reporting developing trends and relevant metrics in the businesses in accordance with the Global framework
- Prepare monthly and quarterly actual variance analysis versus operating plans, prior year results and current forecasts and present to leadership
- Work with all marketing teammates to understand all variances vs. plan as well as ensuring control against cost center budgets
- Communicate frequently and effectively with all levels and provide recommendations to management on strategic initiatives, project execution and calendar updates
- Execute financial rhythm of month-end close and prepare journal entries to support the close process
- Presentation of results and financial plans to business partners
- Assist in the development of yearly budgets for channels utilizing historical data and current market condition data finding opportunities to mitigate risks
- Support special projects to drive improvement and understanding of complex areas of the business
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field (Accounting/Business Administration)
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in FP&A, Accounting and/or Business Analysis
- Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office especially financial modeling in Excel
- Familiarity with corporate financial accounting systems (SAP, IBPF, COPA, Anaplan, etc)
