Position SummaryThe Loan Operations Manager reports to the Director of Lending and is responsible for overseeing the loan origination process from intake through closing, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and compliance across all lending activities. This role supervises Loan Officers across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, providing day‑to‑day guidance, training, and performance management to strengthen loan production, improve application quality, and ensure accurate and timely pipeline management.
The Loan Operations Manager is accountable for maintaining a high‑performing loan pipeline, ensuring data integrity within our online databases, and supporting reporting to leadership, funders, and the board. The role works closely with the Loan Servicing & Underwriting Manager to ensure seamless coordination across origination, underwriting, and servicing functions. This position supports LEDC’s strategic goal of growing its lending portfolio to $20 million over the next three years by improving conversion rates, increasing loan production, and enhancing operational efficiency, while maintaining strong compliance with organizational policies and funder requirements.
LEDC is a U.S. Treasury‑certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and SBA Microloan Intermediary. LEDC provides loans ranging from $5,000–$250,000 to small businesses and $1,000–$5,000 to consumers seeking to build or repair credit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manage the full loan origination pipeline on our database from intake through closing.
- Oversee intake, eligibility screening, and application completeness.
- Ensure timely progression of applications across all stages.
- Monitor pipeline performance, including volume, conversion rates, and time‑to‑close.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Ensure loan production aligns with organizational and funder goals.
- Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Supervise and manage Loan Officers across all markets.
