Position: Chief of Fiscal Services I - Department of Transportation

Salary

87,373. annually

Job Summary

The Chief of Fiscal Services directs and administers a financial and accounting system for a city agency. Responsibilities include supervising administrative, accounting, fiscal, and office support personnel. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek in an office setting with normal working conditions and minimal physical exertion.

Responsibilities

Direct and administer the financial and accounting system.

Supervise administrative, accounting, fiscal, and office support staff.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Four years of experience in budgetary, fiscal, or accounting work, including one year of supervisory responsibilities.
  • Master's degree may substitute for one year of non-supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of fiscal and budgetary principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of administration.
  • Ability to develop budgetary and administrative procedures.
  • Ability to plan and organize financial activities.
  • Ability to conduct fiscal and budgetary studies.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively.
  • Ability to establish fiscal procedures and forms.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, officials and others.
  • Administrative ability.
Additional Information

Background check and/or fingerprint authorization required for positions of trust. Selected candidates must complete a mandatory six‑month probation. Candidates must complete a financial disclosure required by City Ethics Law.
