Annually, DHCD finances approximately 2,700 units of multifamily rental housing up to 40 properties amounting to $350 million in construction and permanent financing and over 3,000 first time home buyers' mortgages amounting to $1 billion. Funding comes from a variety of sources, including state-appropriated funds, taxable and tax-exempt revenue bonds, federal low income housing tax credits, federal HOME funds and other federal funds.
Additionally, DHCD administers rental assistance programs and innovative mortgage purchase initiatives designed to expand affordable housing opportunities for persons with disabilities and home buyers with student debt, increase the energy efficiency and sustainability of affordable multifamily developments, and preserve rental housing.
Single Family Housing's goals are to help low and moderate income Maryland residents purchase and maintain their homes and to increase the percentage of low and moderate income Maryland households who live in decent housing.

This position offers a salary range of $38.62 - $41.68 hourly with the potential for advancement up to $60.20 hourly based on qualifications, equity, and hiring guidelines. Initial salary offers are determined by qualifications, experience and available budget, and typically do not exceed $41.68 hourly.

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development is located in Prince George's County across from the New Carrollton Metro Stop.
Position DutiesThe main purpose of this position is to ensure all program compliance documents (program manuals, loan documents, directives, newsletters, program income and purchase price limits, some training materials, presentations, announcements etc.) are kept up to date, ADA accessible, reviewed and improved on a regular basis. Relatedly, the responsibilities of this position include maintaining a constant connection with our stakeholders (US Bank, lenders, NCSHA, FNMA, Freddie Mac, FHA etc.)
to ensure their databases and memberships related to the Single Family Housing programs are maintained timely and accurately.
This position helps promote the interests of the Single Family Programs and foster the relationships with our programs’ stakeholders (within DHCD and with external business partners, including lenders, realtors, housing counselors, mortgage insurers, non-profit organizations and local governments, general public etc.) to optimize the deployment of the programs, continually improve the programs’ image, foster a greater statewide awareness, and help to ensure the long-term visibility of the programs to support the Department’s mission of working with partners to finance housing opportunities to ensure Maryland citizens have the opportunity to live and prosper in affordable housing.
This position works with both internal and external clients to improve knowledge and performance through training and by development of reference materials.
