Chesapeake Search Partners has partnered with a highly respected community bank seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to join its growing team. This individual will be responsible for evaluating and assessing the creditworthiness of both prospective and existing commercial clients through comprehensive financial statement analysis, industry research, collateral evaluation, and cash flow assessment.
This is a fully on-site position requiring attendance in the office five days per week.

- Utilize financial analysis software to spread financial statements, generate financial ratios, and prepare global cash flow analyses and stress testing
- Assess and interpret financial statements, cash flow analyses, and personal financial information to evaluate credit risk
- Prepare detailed credit memoranda and narrative reports that clearly communicate risk assessments and recommendations
- Research borrower industries, analyze market trends, and compare borrowers against relevant industry peers
- Leverage internal and external resources to support recommendations regarding credit risk ratings, collateral adequacy, loan structure, and policy compliance
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior credit analysts
- Attend Loan Committee meetings as needed to support loan requests and recommendations
- Utilize reporting systems to prepare reports for Senior Management, the Board of Directors, auditors, and regulatory examiners, including quarterly credit reporting packages
- Maintain records of new commercial loan requests, renewals, commercial line-of-credit reviews, and commercial real estate modifications
- Conduct annual loan reviews, including risk rating assessments
- Coordinate underwriting timelines with commercial lenders and business development officers, ensuring deadlines are met and proactively communicating any delays
- Analyze borrowing base certificates and aging reports for accounts receivable, inventory, and accounts payable when required
- Review commercial and residential real estate appraisals
- Accompany commercial lenders on client visits and collaborate with borrowers, accountants, and other advisors as needed
- Work closely with lenders, business development officers, and lending support staff to obtain information necessary for credit analysis
- Interface with external loan reviewers, auditors, and regulatory examiners to address commercial lending inquiries
- Maintain the financial statement tickler system and monitor covenant compliance
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the Bank's Loan Policy and lending procedures
- Adhere to all Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Comply with all applicable federal and state banking laws and regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements
- Protect confidential customer information and adhere to privacy and information security policies
- Complete all required annual compliance and regulatory training
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Bank's BSA/AML policies and promptly report any suspicious activity in accordance with established procedures
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related fie
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in commercial credit analysis, commercial underwriting, accounting, financial statement preparation, banking, or a related fie
- Experience underwriting loans across a variety of asset classes and structures, including:
- Land Development
- Asset-Based Lending
- Multifamily Lending
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and credit analysis/reporting systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain strict confidentiality
