A leading private credit investment manager is seeking a Private Credit Associate to join its growing investment team in Baltimore. The firm focuses primarily on direct lending, providing flexible debt capital solutions to middle‑market companies across a wide range of industries.

The role offers broad exposure across the full credit investment lifecycle, including sourcing, underwriting, structuring, execution, and ongoing portfolio management. The team takes a hands‑on approach to investing and works closely with management teams and sponsors to support growth, acquisitions, and refinancing needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and underwrite direct lending and private credit investment opportunities.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including cash flow forecasts and credit sensitivity analyses.
  • Conduct in-depth credit analysis, including assessment of business fundamentals, capital structure, and downside risk.
  • Participate in due diligence processes, including management meetings and third‑party advisor interactions.
  • Assist in structuring and negotiating loan documentation and financing terms.
  • Prepare investment memoranda and present recommendations to senior investment professionals.
  • Monitor portfolio company performance, covenant compliance, and overall credit risk.
  • Work closely with borrowers, sponsors, and advisors throughout the investment lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, leveraged finance, direct lending, private credit, or a related credit‑focused role.
  • Strong financial modeling and credit analysis skills.
  • Experience analyzing leveraged capital structures and cash flow lending is preferred.
  • Familiarity with underwriting middle‑market companies across various industries.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record.
