Job Summary

Under the direction of the Financial Services/Payroll Supervisor, the Financial Services Associate provides a high level of customer service to the Morgan campus, the Central Payroll Bureau, and all individuals who contact the Financial Services Unit. The role involves generating, analyzing, and evaluating diagnostic reports summarizing payroll problems and their solutions, and problem‑solving issues concerning payroll and its interfaces with IT and CPB.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑level customer service, including answering phones, checking voicemails, monitoring emails, and assisting walk‑ins and document scanning.
  • Review, process, and distribute incoming mail and emails.
  • Make corrections and help resolve issues related to the gross pay file before submission to IT in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all necessary documents are processed promptly.
  • Research, analyze, and process all payroll‑related matters, resolving issues such as missed paychecks, retroactive calculations, tax errors, and other forwarded problems.
  • Independently organize and execute assignments by deadline while paying close attention to detail.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the Morgan campus, the Central Payroll Bureau, the Comptroller of the MD office, and other external stakeholders.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience:

    At least 3 years of customer service experience, including experience working in an office environment.
Preferences

Preferences may be given to candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • 10‑key calculator proficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Pleasant personality and ability to work well on a team.
