Position OverviewThis position is part of the Retirement Processing section and reports to the Estimate Team Supervisor. It involves processing retirement estimates, retirement applications, and salary audit cases using the Agency’s Customer Relationship Management system. The incumbent applies retirement law, regulations, and Agency policies to ensure accurate and compliant processing and may provide process improvement recommendations.
Responsibilities- Prepare and/or review, analyze, and process retirement estimate and retirement application requests from members in accordance with established procedures.
- Conduct audits of member accounts to determine proper service credit and employee contributions, calculate projected service and contributions, and enter data into Agency‑approved worksheets.
- Review salary audit cases from the CRM, contact employers as needed, and initiate adjustments in the AFC application.
- Verify completeness and eligibility of incoming retirement estimates and applications; draft correspondence to reject incomplete or deficient requests and provide guidance to members and employers.
- Research member account information in MPAS, create files with required data, and update the Access Retirement Estimate and Final databases.
- Review and approve pending adjustments in MPAS to ensure correct service and eligibility credit in the active member file.
- Submit transactions in a timely manner to update the retirement master file in accordance with established procedures.
- Participate in special projects assigned by the Retirement Processing Manager, Deputy Director, or Director.
- Assist with periodic review and modification of standard operating procedures, checklists, worksheets, and job aids.
- Comply with Agency policies, general application of independent judgment, and telework‑eligible status after training.
- High school graduation or equivalent high school diploma.
- Two years of administrative staff or professional work experience.
- Alternative experience that equals one year of the required experience or a bachelor’s degree, with options for credit hours or military service experience.
- At least one year of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- At least one year of experience reviewing and processing incoming eligibility applications.
