Payment Processing Specialist

Core responsibilities

• Review and process properly submitted invoices and route exceptions for correction.
• Document payment discrepancies and maintain transaction logs.
• Support underpayment calculations, repayment notices, and checkwriter requests as assigned.
• Review provider-submitted documentation for completeness and route items for supervisory review.
• Assist with over payment and verification workflows, including correspondence and record updates.
• Enter payment-related data accurately and support monthly outcome reporting.

High school diploma required; associate degree preferred. Two or more years of experience in payment processing, claims, accounts payable support, large-volume transaction processing, data validation, or public program payment operations.

• 2+ years total relevant experience
• 1+ year in payment processing, claims, accounts payable support, or high-volume transaction processing
• Direct provider payment, scholarship payment, or public program payment operations experience preferred

• Experience in childcare subsidy, Medicaid, UI, public assistance, or other regulated payment environments.
• Experience reviewing supporting documentation and handling transaction exceptions.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort with repetitive, high-volume system work.
• Experience with checkwriter or corrective-payment workflows is a plus.
