We are seeking an experienced Cash Operations Specialist Intermediate to perform critical cash functions and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our daily cash operations.
This role ensures safe, accurate, and timely circulation of a significant value of currency/coin inventory to meet the needs of depository institutions and public citizens during normal operation and periods of natural disaster.
This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to perform operational tasks.
Responsibilities- Work in a highly controlled, regulated, and secure environment with strict adherence to a set of defined rules and regulations in accordance with guidelines and District cash procedures.
- Verify, process, and pay out currency using complex high-speed counting equipment and/or proprietary accounting software.
- Use broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience.
- Deliver day‑to‑day objectives while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
- Perform routine tasks with specific instructions to achieve standard solutions.
- Work under moderate supervision for routine tasks.
- Apply discretion within operational boundaries and procedures.
- Make minor adjustments to working methods.
- Communicate information that requires explanation or interpretation.
- Basic knowledge of cash operations and prescribed operating procedures, safety, security, and compliance and/or production standards and controls.
- Experience operating high-speed processing equipment and/or paying and receiving currency and coin.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other online applications as needed.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication and team collaboration.
- High School diploma required;
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred. - Zero to 3+ years of relevant work experience in cash operations, currency processing, treasury, or related financial operations.
- Ability to lift and carry up to fifty pounds.
- Ability to push and pull up to one hundred pounds.
- Valid driver’s license or certification to operate industrial truck (if required).
- Stand for extended periods while operating equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and accuracy.
- Dependable with minimal work schedule flexibility.
- May require extended work hours.
- May require response during natural disasters or emergency situations.
- Occasional travel, including overnight stays, may be necessary.
Listed salary ranges may vary based on experience, qualifications, and local market. Also, some positions may include bonuses or other incentives.
