The role involves building and analyzing sophisticated models for insurance products, investments, and portfolios to increase company risk-adjusted returns. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced knowledge of actuarial, financial, statistical, data science, and balance sheet modeling analytics to develop, test, and validate models for various functions within the company.
Responsibilities include supporting modeling activities on various insurance liabilities, fixed-income assets, and derivatives in actuarial systems, modeling and quantifying risks, collaborating with key stakeholders, embracing new technologies to improve workflows, and applying risk management techniques and procedures.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a technical/quantitative discipline, three years of modeling experience (or one with a master's degree), and knowledge of at least one product such as insurance liability, asset valuation, derivatives modeling, liquidity management, machine learning, or artificial intelligence. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, actuarial science background, experience with database design and usage, and programming experience in C++/C#/Python or other advanced languages.
The working conditions include an office environment with a hybrid office schedule (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and locations in Denver, Cedar Rapids, and Baltimore.
The salary for this position generally ranges between $88, annually.
