Representing the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA), the regional planning team liaises with a specific region's local governments, including municipal, county, and regional jurisdictions as well as other governmental agencies;
business, civic, and community organizations; elected officials; and the general public. In coordination with the RP, the ARP communicates information to and from stakeholders about all phases of MDOT SHA projects. In such cases, the ARP will work directly with their assistant division chief to coordinate liaison activities. In addition to local government liaison duties, an ARP may be tasked with completing specific duties, which may include assisting with transportation studies, projects, and/or policy efforts and initiatives as staffing requires and to take advantage of an ARP's interests.
