The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this position is to support the continuing operations and administration of the Office of the Director for the Division of Parole and Probation by coordinating executive priorities, managing day-to-day workflow, and ensuring timely follow-through on critical assignments. The incumbent promotes the agency’s work through regular contact with interested groups and individuals and serves as a key liaison between the executive and agency units.

This role analyzes issues and makes recommendations to upper management regarding new or revised legislation affecting the agency, and develops and recommends updated standards and methods of operation to improve effectiveness and consistency. The position may manage sensitive and confidential projects requiring discretion and sound judgment in the release of information, represent the executive in meetings and conferences, lead special projects as assigned, and performs other related duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience:

Five years of administrative staff or professional work.

  • Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.

  • Experience directly supervising staff.
  • Experience managing or supporting public or legal records processes.
  • Experience managing and completing high-priority, time-sensitive assignments.
  • Experience analyzing complex policy, complex issues, or request for executive review.
