Overview
Park West Health System (PWHS) is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) to join our Social Work Department and work collaboratively with our Hidden Garden Program and interdisciplinary care teams. This role plays a critical part in advancing patient-centered, trauma-informed, and evidence-based behavioral health services within an integrated healthcare setting.
Position SummaryThe LCSW-C will provide direct clinical services, crisis intervention, and case management to patients experiencing mental health and substance use disorders, psychosocial stressors, and related challenges. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, collaborative, and committed to culturally responsive care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the Social Work Program within the Social Work Department and collaborate closely with the Hidden Garden Program to support patient-centered care, policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices.
- Provide direct clinical services, including biopsychosocial intake assessments, diagnostic screenings, treatment planning, and individual, family, and/or group therapy.
- Deliver prevention services, case management, and referrals to internal and external community resources, as appropriate.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to patients and families addressing mental health concerns, substance use disorders, physical health conditions, and psychosocial stressors.
- Encourage patient engagement and compliance with treatment recommendations.
- Document all clinical encounters in accordance with agency standards, licensing requirements, and established billing practices.
- Adhere to the Department of Social Work’s policies and procedures and comply with all applicable federal, state, county, and city laws and COMAR regulations.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team that includes primary care, dental, and behavioral health professionals.
- Current LCSW-C license in the State of Maryland.
- Strong clinical knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive assessments of emotional, mental, physical, and social functioning using evidence-based tools.
- Understanding of ethical standards, values, and best practices within an integrated behavioral health program in a healthcare setting.
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and community partners.
- Knowledge of community resources and the ability to identify and develop new referral options.
- Demonstrated use of culturally responsive language and trauma-informed care.
- Ability to work independently, apply critical thinking, and problem-solve effectively.
- Proven skill in managing crises with flexibility, professionalism, and compassion.
