PT - Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Rate of Pay $22/hr*

We are seeking a Part Time Personal Supports (DSP) to provide hands‑on care to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities providing assistance with personal hygiene, activities/ outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning.
Support a young woman in the Monkton area with participating in activities in her community and developing independence. Assist with identifying and participating in new activities of interest, money skills, exercise and healthy choices. Loves dancing, music, beauty/makeup, clothes, and shopping. Staff should be patient, respectful, trustworthy, and able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life.
This position is:
15 hours/ week
Monday – Friday 3:30p-6:30p
Part‑time
The schedule is subject to flexibility due to the needs of the individuals supported.
DSPs assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives by:
Assisting with participation and exploration of the community
Cultivating and expanding independent living skills
Assisting with the development of meaningful and personal relationships
Implementing strategies to achieve individuals’ personal goals.

Physical Requirements and
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work with individuals with a variety of disabilities, including the potential to be exposed to aggressive, unpredictable behavior.
- Ability to sit, stand, reach, walk, run, push, carry, manipulate objects or controls, kneel, stoop, or crawl for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to assist and transfer an adult in/out of a wheelchair; at times may need to assist with personal care needs when necessary.
- The position may require the occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more at a time.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D preferred
- Must have at least 2 years of driving experience
- Must be at least 20 years of age.
- Current driver’s license (not provisional) with less than 3 points on driving record
- Must be able to transport people supported as needed
- Some lifting and transferring may be required
Regular Base Rate is $22/hr . There is an additional $1/hr. shift differential for weekend shifts. ($22 +$1=$23/hr.)
