We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to an individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Personal Support Services professionals assist individuals and families living in their personal home.
Individual programs are designed around the needs and desires of each participant and implemented with attention and care. Whether living alone or with family members, individually tailored services are the best way to support people on their own terms.
Services provided are personalized and directed by the individual receiving supports and may include but are not limited to: assistance with personal hygiene, activities/outings, social engagement, and shopping.
Paid trainings, including CPR/First Aid
DSP’s assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives by:
- Assisting with participation and exploration of the community
- Cultivating and expanding independent living skills
- Assisting with development of meaningful and personal relationships
- Implementing strategies to achieve individuals’ personal goals
Eligible candidates must have a high school degree/GED and a current driver’s license with less than three points on their driving record.
The hours for this position: 20 hours
3 evenings/ week 2-6p (some flexibility)
Sat & Sun 5-10 hours
Support staff needed to provide support to a woman in the Kingsville area. Pick up at Day Program in Harford County (Bel Air) area 2-3 days a week and work on skills/ activities in the community. Assist with staying active, walking, exploring the YMCA, and swimming at the local pool. Play games, and find fun activities to participate in. Work on skills to boost independence king for someone with an upbeat personality who is eager to make a difference.
Staff should be dependable and reliable.
This position requires the use of personal vehicles to provide transportation within the community.
This position requires the use of a personal cell phone for mobile punching and documentation.
