Post-doctoral research position in the Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Nutrition, University of Maryland, Baltimore
A full-time Post-Doctoral research position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Zhe "Zion" Han in the Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Nutrition at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, starting November 1, 2019 (until filled).
The Han lab uses Drosophila and human cell lines to study genetic diseases affecting the heart, kidney, blood, muscles, metabolism, and aging. We combine genetics, epigenetics, biochemistry, cell biology, developmental biology, and bioinformatics to understand disease mechanisms, identify and validate disease-causing genetic variants, and test potential therapeutic drugs based on these mechanisms.
We are seeking highly motivated researchers with a PhD in a related field, interested in developing animal models for human diseases and potential therapeutic treatments. Candidates should have at least 2 years of biomedical research experience, be able to work independently, possess critical thinking skills, and have good written and oral English communication skills. Previous experience with Drosophila genetics or bioinformatics is preferred but not required.
If interested, please email a CV, a short personal statement demonstrating your interest and qualifications, and the contact information for three references to Dr. Zhe "Zion" Han .
