Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

• 3x12 shift schedule

• Every 3rd weekend required

• 2 years of experience required

• First-time travelers accepted if they have CVICU experience

• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms

• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS

• Float required to CCU as needed

• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends

• 36 hours of orientation provided

• Care for adult patients with diagnoses including CAD, AS, MS, TS, PVD/PAD, PE, MI, CHF, and DM

• Manage patients post-cardiac surgery directly from OR

• Perform specialized procedures including CABG, AVR, MVR, structural heart procedures (TAVR, Triluminate, Encircle), TCAR, EVAR, carotid endarectomy

• Work with specialized equipment including chest tubes, rapid infuser, blood warmer, CRRT, transvenous pacer, lumbar drains, vents, and IABP

• Skills required include ECMO, IABP management, pulmonary artery line monitoring, sheath removal, ventricular assist device management

• Must be competent in IV insulin protocols, arterial line management, blood product administration, and titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips

• Complete facility-specific Sitel modules within one week of contract signing

• Complete labs and drug screen within 48 hours of signing

This healthcare facility features an 8-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit providing specialized cardiac care with comprehensive interdisciplinary support services. The facility offers advanced cardiac services including post-surgical cardiac care, structural heart procedures, and complex cardiovascular interventions. The unit maintains a low daily census of 1-8 patients, allowing for focused, high-quality patient care with support from IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and other specialized departments.
