Overview
The University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc. is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant II to support faculty practices within the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

- Provide administrative support to neurosurgery faculty in accordance with established procedures and departmental guidelines
- Assist with maintaining calendars, clinic schedules, and appointments, ensuring accuracy and timely updates in a fast‑paced clinical environment
- Serve as a point of contact for patients, responding to routine inquiries in a courteous, respectful, and compassionate manner and routing questions appropriately
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to support efficient clinic operations and continuity of care
- Assist with clinic preparation by organizing schedules, documentation, and administrative materials prior to and during patient visits
- Perform routine administrative tasks such as correspondence, data entry, tracking requests, filing, record maintenance, and document preparation
- Accurately enter and maintain information in electronic systems and databases
- Route inquiries, messages, and requests to appropriate faculty or staff based on established processes
- Maintain confidentiality when handling patient, faculty, and practice information in accordance with privacy and compliance standards
- Follow established policies and procedures while demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
- Contribute to a positive, organized, and service‑focused clinical environment that reflects departmental values and standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of departmental operations
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Two to three years related office experience
- Demonstrated experience in a healthcare, academic, or clinical practice environment preferred
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
