Pay rate: $24 per hour
Responsibilities- Regular performance of activities required to administratively support the clinical practices of multiple physicians.
- Preparing per physician-specific standards for each clinic session.
- Maintaining patients’ charts in the Epic Electronic Medical Record with relevant information such as lab results, test results, letters, memo and related medical documents, and obtaining relevant clinical information from other providers.
- Proactively reviewing the physician’s upcoming clinic schedules to identify potential issues, propose solutions, and fill vacant slots.
- Identifying and triaging requests for urgent appointments and taking the appropriate action to resolve issues.
- Responding to ad hoc patient inquiries and requests in a timely, professional, and courteous manner, including communicating relevant information to and from the physician.
- Obtaining and communicating patient personal health information in a legally compliant and highly confidential manner.
- Scheduling make‑up clinic sessions as needed and coordinating exam room availability with key stakeholders.
- Completing requests for filing, faxing, scanning, copying, answering phones, sorting mail, data entry, and other errands in a timely, accurate, and collegial manner.
- Managing tasks such as accessing e‑mail, electronic calendars, the Epic electronic medical record, and other clinical information systems / office support software.
- Carrying out duties and responsibilities with limited supervision.
- Making decisions and establishing work priorities on essentially procedure‑oriented operations.
- High School diploma or GED required. Prefer two years of college or medical training.
- Three years of work experience required in a similar service‑oriented industry; five years of related experience preferred. Additional education may be substituted for up to one year of experience.
- Experience in a medical office setting strongly preferred.
- Intermediate computer and proofreading skills required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required. Training will be provided for Hopkins clinical information systems, and proficiency must be achieved and maintained.
- Knowledge of general medical terminology required.
- Knowledge of medical insurance coverage preferred.
- Demonstrated ability for self‑direction, initiation, and handling of multiple tasks required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team required.
- Demonstrated customer service skills required.
