The main purpose of this position is to provide direct client services for the Carroll County WIC Program in accordance with USDA and State of Maryland regulations. This position will ensure access to care, utilization of needed services for the targeted population and compliance with local, federal and state regulations, policies and procedures. This position will collaborate with co-workers to ensure quality and productivity in the delivery of services.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. - Experience:
One year of experience in health or human service delivery, performing tasks such as program eligibility determination, health screening, client referral services, or nutrition education. - Notes:
- Candidates may substitute the completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Health Services classifications or Health Services and specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Experience providing WIC services.
- Experience working with families who have young children.
- Experience providing breastfeeding education.
- Experience providing customer service.
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
