Our Outpatient Mental Health Center (OMHC) provides comprehensive, evidence-based mental health services to children, adolescents, and their families in a supportive and trauma-informed environment.
Position SummaryThe Therapist/Clinician provides individual, group, and family therapy services to children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the clinician will conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver high-quality therapeutic interventions in alignment with the mission and values of The Children's Guild.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations for child and adolescent clients.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, families, and the treatment team.
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, play therapy).
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system in accordance with regulatory and agency standards.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, school staff, and other community providers to coordinate care.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, clinical supervision, and ongoing professional development.
- Engage families as active partners in the therapeutic process.
- Adhere to all COMAR, CARF, and relevant federal/state regulatory requirements.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
- Participate in crisis assessment and safety planning as needed.
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Active licensure in the state of Maryland (LCSW, LCPC, LMSW, LGPC, or equivalent); candidates in good standing working toward full licensure may be considered.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of post-graduate clinical experience, with a focus on children, adolescents, and/or families.
- Demonstrated experience providing therapy to youth with diverse mental health, behavioral, and trauma-related needs.
- Strong knowledge of child development, family systems, and trauma-informed care principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working in an outpatient mental health or community-based setting.
- Training in evidence-based practices such as TF-CBT, CBT, or DBT.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other languages) are a plus.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
