Our Outpatient Mental Health Center (OMHC) provides comprehensive, evidence-based mental health services to children, adolescents, and their families in a supportive and trauma-informed environment.

Position Summary

The Therapist/Clinician provides individual, group, and family therapy services to children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the clinician will conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver high-quality therapeutic interventions in alignment with the mission and values of The Children's Guild.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations for child and adolescent clients.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, families, and the treatment team.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, play therapy).
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system in accordance with regulatory and agency standards.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, school staff, and other community providers to coordinate care.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, clinical supervision, and ongoing professional development.
  • Engage families as active partners in the therapeutic process.
  • Adhere to all COMAR, CARF, and relevant federal/state regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in crisis assessment and safety planning as needed.
Qualifications Required
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Active licensure in the state of Maryland (LCSW, LCPC, LMSW, LGPC, or equivalent); candidates in good standing working toward full licensure may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of post-graduate clinical experience, with a focus on children, adolescents, and/or families.
  • Demonstrated experience providing therapy to youth with diverse mental health, behavioral, and trauma-related needs.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, family systems, and trauma-informed care principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an outpatient mental health or community-based setting.
  • Training in evidence-based practices such as TF-CBT, CBT, or DBT.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other languages) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
