Position: Speech-Language Pathologist /Assistant

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) & Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Contract (Flexible)

Work Setting: Remote/Hybrid/In-person

Position Overview

We are seeking compassionate, mission-driven Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to provide high-quality speech and language therapy services to children and adolescents across Baltimore City and throughout MD.

This role supports both school-based speech therapy programs and direct clinical services in an outpatient or community setting , as needed. The ideal candidate is committed to culturally responsive care , understands community-based service delivery , and is comfortable working within school environments while also supporting outpatient therapy services .

Speech-language professionals in this role will help individuals improve communication skills, language development, articulation, social communication, and overall functional communication abilities to support academic success and daily life functioning.

Required Licensure (Maryland)

Applicants must hold one of the following credentials:

  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Maryland
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred
Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
  • Active Maryland Speech Language Pathology Assistant license
  • Must work under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist
Key Responsibilities Clinical Services
  • Conduct speech and language screenings, evaluations, and assessments (SLP)
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to assigned clients
  • Address communication disorders including articulation, language delays, fluency, voice, and social communication
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and therapy notes in compliance with Maryland regulations
School-Based Support
  • Deliver speech therapy services within school settings
  • Support students with speech, language, and communication challenges impacting learning
  • Collaborate with teachers, special educators, school psychologists, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress reporting when appropriate
  • Support communication development that enhances academic and social success
Program & Community Collaboration
  • Coordinate care with families, educators, case managers, and community partners
  • Provide caregiver education and communication strategies for home support
  • Support program goals aligned with youth development and academic success
  • Participate in team meetings and care coordination as needed
Compliance & Ethics
  • Adhere to Maryland licensing standards and speech-language pathology practice regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards at all times
  • Follow supervision guidelines for SLPA practice
  • Ensure all documentation and service delivery meet payer and regulatory requirements
Qualifications Required
  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Active Maryland Speech Language Pathologist license
  • Experience working with children and adolescents
For Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology Assistant program or related field
  • Active Maryland SLPA license
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed SLP
For Both Roles
  • Ability to work in school-based and community settings
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build rapport with children, families, and school staff
Preferred
  • Experience in school-based speech therapy services
  • Experience working with children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, or communication disorders
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and educational environments
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive care
  • Experience serving diverse and underserved communities
  • Flexible scheduling based on program and client needs
  • Services provided in schools, office-based settings, and community locations
